Biography
Shaun George is a talented light heavyweight contender, best known for his impressive TKO of former heavyweight champion Chris Byrd. George clobbered Byrd with his heavy right hand all night, dropped him three times, and stopped him in the ninth round- sending Byrd into retirement.
George was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY and started boxing at the early age of 12 when his dad took him to the Bed Stuy Boxing Club.
George’s professional record is 17-2 (8 KO’s). As an amateur George compiled an outstanding record of 51 wins and 7 losses. He was ranked as high #3 in the country as a junior and #6 as a open class fighter. George won the New York Golden Gloves twice, NY Regionals, and National tournaments. George is the former IBC Americas champ and WBA NABA cruiserweight champ.
“This is just the beginning,” said George. “I want to be the best, and in order to be the best, I have to beat the best. My goal is to become Pound for Pound King.”
